Why choose the ChromaEgg Filled?
At Boscoyo Studio we design props for both hobbyists and professional display builders. The ChromaEgg Filled gives you:
- Higher pixel density for smoother gradients and more intricate patterns.
- Durable coroplast construction for outdoor use and easy mounting.
- Compatibility with popular sequencers (xLights, Falcon, and others) so you can program complex effects across the 49 nodes.
- Simple installation—pixels are manually inserted into precut holes, letting you customize spacing and placement.
Installation & practical tips
The ChromaEgg Filled ships as a coroplast sheet with precut holes—pixels are not pre-installed. Here are some standard tips from our team:
- Use 12mm bullet pixels; gently push each pixel into its pre-cut hole until it seats snugly. A light twisting motion can help with stubborn fits.
- Secure the prop to frames, fences, or stakes with zip ties through the built-in mounting slots or by adding your own mounting points.
- Run your pixel wiring neatly behind the prop and use heat-shrink or weatherproof connectors for outdoor shows.
- We recommend sequencing the prop in xLights or similar software to get the most out of the 49-node matrix—use the higher density to create detailed wipes, gradients, and eye-catching pixel art.
Note: "Filled" refers to the density of the pre-cut pixel holes, not to pixels pre-installed in the prop.
Use cases & creative ideas
- Create an animated Easter centerpiece with gradient fills and bouncing pixels.
- Group multiple ChromaEggs with different sequencing to build a themed lawn display.
- Integrate the egg into a parade or event backdrop—its light diffusion and shape work great for photo ops.
