Long review but worth the read.

Purchased the Boscoyo Medium v5 Sphere and haven’t regrated it or seen anything that comes close to rivalling it. The plastic material used for the main body of the v5 sphere is perfect and can’t be faulted, faxable and extremely strong.
Inserting the EVO+ pixels was a dream, no sore thumbs or special tool needed. Although I had an issue with one of the pixels on a 25-pixel string, it was simple enough to swap out as I only need 20 on the string anyway.

Certainly, recommend using the EVO pixels (not tried or tested with bullet node pixels) as these are light weight and fit the pixel cut-out's perfectly. Strongly recommend the 4” (100mm) spaced strings as you’ll have issues with anything shorter when fitting pixels in the top and bottom of the sphere before its zipped tied to form the sphere.

Sales and Support Team are the absolute best…

I live in the UK and fortunately for me our friend’s daughter from USA was heading over to the UK for a few days before heading off on a cruise around Europe. So, I went ahead and ordered, and had it delivered to our friend in readiness for her trip to the UK.

Before I go on further, I must highlight that I had a couple of issues and the support I received from the guys and dolls at Boscoyo was second to none. I’ve dealt with a lot of companies over the years and I was overwhelmed with the prompt, courteous service provided.

First issue, there was a fault with the 2-adapters used if mounting on a pole. These had been over cut, and it looked like a simply manufacturing error. I emailed the Sales team and included a couple of photos of the parts. They come straight back to me and agreed that this was a fault and would send out replacements. These were sent directly to the UK address with no issues or around the original deliver address being in the USA etc.

Second issue. This had nothing to do with Boscoyo but none the less they helped me without the bulls**t you normally get – Nothing to do with us blah blah blah.

I had an issue getting the effects from x-Lights to show as expected. Cut a long story short, this was to do with WLED on the controller not interacting as you would expect with the Sphere model in x-Lights when you configure a 2D matrix WLED. My advice, if you do have WLED installed on your controller and are going to use a sphere model in x-Lights, configure the LED’s in WLED as a single string. Although not 100% perfect it is a workable solution.

Now looking at getting a Baldrick 8 Port Controller or installing ESPixelStick firmware onto my QuinLED controllers as this seemed to resolve the issue 100% when I tested.
